Some meals are meant for one plate. Others are meant for the whole table. At Le Flamant Rose, our Mehmooni platters belong to the second kind. In Persian, mehmooni means having people over: the long evening, the full table, everyone reaching for one more piece. Our menu puts it simply: built for a table, never for one.

If you are looking for sharing platters in Dubai Creek Harbour, for a family dinner, a get-together with friends or a relaxed weekend lunch, here is what to order and how to plan it.

What Is a Mehmooni Platter?

A Mehmooni platter is a large wooden board loaded with grilled meats or slow-cooked lamb, saffron rice and the extras that make Persian food so generous: grilled tomato, corn, herbs and flatbread. It arrives in the middle of the table, and everyone helps themselves. No one has to choose just one dish, and no one goes home hungry.

Every platter comes with basmati rice by default. If you prefer Persian rice, you can upgrade it.

The Platters on Our Menu

These are the Mehmooni platters on our live menu today. Prices are with basmati rice.

  • Mixed Chicken Platter (AED 169): five Persian chicken kebabs and a lamb kebab, with saffron rice, grilled tomato, corn and flatbread. A great first platter for families.

  • Slow-Cooked Lamb Neck (AED 239): lamb neck cooked for nine hours, with fava-dill or saffron rice.

  • Slow-Cooked Lamb Shank (AED 239): lamb shank cooked for nine hours, with fava and dill rice, saffron and pistachio.

  • Grand Mixed Grill (AED 269): lamb chops, lamb kebab, yogurt chicken, and beef and chicken tikka, with saffron rice. This is the one for a big appetite.

  • Bone Marrow Platter (AED 199): roasted bone marrow with fries, potato wedges, jacket potato and greens.

  • Fresh Fruit Platter (AED 79): sliced seasonal fruit, arranged to share. A light way to end the meal.

You can see every dish, with photos, on our food menu.

Start With Mazeh for the Table

While the grill does its work, most tables order a few starters to share. Our mazeh quartets are made for exactly that:

  • Cold Mazeh Quartet (AED 79): fresh tabbouleh, Shirazi salad, creamy hummus and salad olivieh.

  • Persian Yoghurt Quartet (AED 79): four Persian yoghurt dips with cucumber, spinach, shallot and aubergine.

  • Warm Mazeh Quartet (AED 99): smoky kashk-e bademjan, mirza ghasemi, tender meatballs and spicy potatoes.

  • Seafood Mazeh Royale (AED 109): spicy baby calamari, dynamite shrimp, buttery shrimp and sautéed mushrooms.

One quartet and one platter is a relaxed meal for two or three people. For a bigger group, add a second platter and a second quartet.

How Much to Order for a Group

A simple guide that works well at our tables:

  • Two to three people: one platter plus one mazeh quartet.

  • Four to five people: two platters (for example the Mixed Chicken Platter and the Grand Mixed Grill) plus two quartets.

  • Six or more: mix grilled and slow-cooked platters so the table gets both smoky and tender flavours, and finish with the Fresh Fruit Platter.

If you are not sure, just ask our team when you arrive. They will help you build the right spread for your table. For something sweet afterwards, take a look at our dessert menu.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people does a sharing platter feed?

The platters are built for the table. One platter with a mazeh quartet suits two to three people. For four or more, we suggest two platters. Our team is happy to advise when you order.

Can I choose Persian rice instead of basmati?

Yes. The platters come with basmati rice, and you can upgrade to Persian rice for a small extra charge. The menu shows both prices.

Are the platters available every day?

Yes. Our Mehmooni platters are on the main menu every day. Le Flamant Rose is open daily from 8 AM to 1 AM.
